We know Ryan for his work for the Guild in recent years, including at Myrniong. His work for us reflects his innovative and interesting approach to the recorder’s possibilities, and we have enjoyed his musicianship as a performer and teacher.

Ryan has been collaborating with Matthew Horsley since 2010 as the    Williams and Horsley Duo, and this will be the first time we have welcomed Matthew as a tutor. Matthew plays    uilleanpipes and percussion, and the duo has performed in classical and folk festivals in Australia, Ireland and The Netherlands. They perform regularly around Victoria, including recently as part of the Recital Centre's 6.00 series.

Hannah Coleman:        The French Baroque: a place to start
Sunday 29 May  at Northcote Uniting Church.

Hotteterre, Couperin, Blavet, Dieupart, Rameau... All composers of elegant, expressive and delicately nuanced repertoire loved by many people. Sometimes, as players, it's hard to know where to begin when performing this music. In this workshop, we'll take a flying tour around the French Baroque, thinking about how this very beautiful style is distinct from other music of its time. We'll talk about why French repertoire is considered complex and I'll try to give  some helpful hints for beginning to interpret this stunning repertoire.  Bring recorders, stands, ideas and questions!

Rodney Waterman     led a   Blow-in

on   Sunday 24 April, from 2 pm to 5 pm,

at St Faith's Anglican Church, 4 Charles St, Burwood.

It was an afternoon of  recorder delights from William Byrd to Steve Marshall. Exploring the nuance of the sublime counterpoint of Byrd to the rich orchestral complexities of contemporary English composer Steve Marshall. Something for everyone.
